Biographies (vote for 3)
| MARK
BIRD |
 |
Currently
employed by Vacco Industries as a senior buyer. His responsibilities
include procurement of all materials either made to industry standards
or custom fabricated hardware to meet Vacco’s drawing and quality
standards. Member of NAPM-OC in 1986-87, but dropped his membership
due to a change in employers. He rejoined in 1998 and has been an
active member in association activities since then. |

Mark holds a
BA degree in Industrial Management from Fullerton College, a certificate
in Purchasing Management from the University of Phoenix, a C.P.I.
certification through his current employer, and is currently in
the process of studying and taking the examinations to complete
the A.P.P. and C.P.M. certification. Mark is active on the local
Membership Committee acting as the Volunteer Coordinator and welcoming
host for new members.
If elected,
he would provide NAPM-OC with a new level of enthusiasm and interest
for the Membership Committee.

Currently employed
at Accuride International, Inc. as a buyer; has been a member of
NAPM-OC for 6 years. She has served as director for the past two
and one-half years, chaired the Directory Committee, been a member
of the June Forum and Educational Resources committees.
She has earned
a C.P.M. and A.P.P. Certification, and supports all activities that

|
promote the
purchasing/supply chain concept.
She designs
all Power Point presentations for the monthly dinner meetings, as
well as designing brochures for seminars and workshops presented
by the association.
Her platform
includes maintaining and increasing the membership, as well as providing
programs for the educational advancement of the members.

Currently employed
at Racal Instruments, Inc. as a buyer. Responsible for the procurement
of electronic hardware, wire, and integration items. (Customer specific
systems engineered to order.)
Has been a member
of NAPM-OC for one year. He has attended our dinner meetings on
a regular basis. He is also a member of

the Orange County
Chapter of APICS, and is certified as CPIM. He is also currently
attending the certification classes in preparation for attaining
his C.P.M.
El Roy has earned
a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, emphasizing Operations
Management, from California State University in Fullerton.
If elected,
he plans to actively pursue the education, development and improvement
of purchasing/supply managers by continuing to encourage others
to complete professional certification programs, which he believes
will foster the improvement of the entire purchasing/supply chain
management profession.

Currently employed
by American Suzuki Motor Corporation as purchasing manager; he procures
a wide variety of materials. He has been a member of NAPM-OC for
sixteen years, and is also a member of APICS. He has a C.P.M. and
an A.P.P. Certification His committee activities include working
on several past June Forums.

He would like
to see an increase in membership, more educational programs developed
for the members, and concerted efforts to recruit more volunteers
to get the work done.

Has over 25
years experience as Chief Purchasing Officer in large governmental
agencies. She was a pioneer in business-to-business e-commerce and
later was a Director at Commerce One where she launched the General
Motors Trade Exchange, Covinsint, Peoplesoft and other marketing
places. Currently she has her own company specializing in providing
a variety of services. Former member of NAPM- OC and

|
LA. She has
worked recently with ISM on numerous projects including panelist
on the e-procurement satellite seminar, presenter at e-procurement
seminars and presented at the Supply Management 360 Conference.
She will moderate and lead the April 11 ISM Satellite Seminar. She
was granted lifetime certification in 1999, holds a degree in Business
Administration from West Coast University, and continues to take
contracting classes at UCI and UCLA. She is past president of the
California Association of Public Purchasing Officers (CAPPO).
Her mission
if elected, is to help others understand the significant stakeholder
value that is created by the purchasing function..

Currently employed
at Laird Technologies as a senior buyer; she is responsible for
the procurement of a variety of supplies and equipment. She has
been a member of NAPM-OC for five years, engaging in various committee
activities. She has served on the Membership Committee and currently
serving on the Educational Resources Committee and The Forum Committee.
While working on the Membership

|
Committee she
introduced the concept for the training and development of volunteers
and worked with the Administrative Services in developing a job
description for Volunteer Coordinator.
If elected,
she will concentrate her efforts on encouraging new members to volunteer
their talent by joining and becoming active on committees to help
NAPM-OC grow. She feels that by doing so, they can become an important
part of the organization.
