NAPM-Orange County, in conjunction with various supply management associations worldwide, will be celebrating the month of March 2001 as Supply Management Month. This special month recognizes the unique role supply management professionals play in helping to build better business and government in California and throughout the United States. To help us celebrate this very special event, NAPM President Richard V. Bradshaw, C.P.M., A.P.P., will join us on March 15 at our regular dinner meeting. Mr. Bradshaw has actively served in a leadership role for the past 20 years. During his term on the NAPM Board of Directors, he was a member of the Executive Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. Mr. Bradshaw will speak to our members on why the name change from NAPM to Institute for Supply Management is being proposed, and how, or if the restructuring proposed by the governance study recently completed, will affect volunteerism. Richard has held each elected position in the Purchasing Management Association of Boston, one of NAPM’s largest affiliates, and the one that Orange County would most like to pattern its web site after. A veteran of NAPM for 29 years President Bradshaw has been both the Assistant Director and Director of District IX. While on the NAPM Board, he was a member of the Executive Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, and the Permanent Conference Committee. A practicing supply management professional for more than 35 years, Richard holds a Bachelors Degree from Northeastern University. He has been employed by Boston University for the past 21 years and is currently the Director of Purchasing for the University’s Medical Campus, a position he has held for the past 16 years. Mr. Bradshaw is a member of several professional associations and has been an active supporter of the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America. He has been married to his wife Joyce for the past 34 years and has two grown children. He resides in North Andover, Massachusetts. Join us for this special visit from our “main man” and gain some insights into where our profession is headed. We also will be recognizing the Executive of the Year from those nominated within our membership as having been exemplary during 2000.
