Join
us February 21st for an exciting evening of fun, education and
professional networking. The evening’s program is titled “Supply
Chain Jeopardy” and will be hosted by Merle W. Roberts, C.P.M.
This will be a joint meeting with our local APICS Chapter and
is sure to be packed with surprises as Merle recreates the game
show that everyone loves to play. There will be three teams from
the audience comprised of members from both NAPM and APICS and
the questions will cover a wide variety of topics that are sure
to capture your interest and test your supply chain knowledge.
There will be prizes for all contestants and something special
for the winning team. If you want to learn more about your profession,
have a great time, and maybe win a big prize, you don’t want to
miss this meeting.
Mr.
Roberts is the Founder and President of Perpetual Frontiers —
a management consulting firm specializing in professional development
training for the purchasing and supply management profession.
He has been an Associate Professor in the Purchasing and Supply
Management program at Coastline Community College since 1981 and
has taught for CSU-Dominguez Hills, UC-Riverside, and Fullerton
College. He is a contributing author of the NAPM C.P.M. Guide
and a member of the C.P.M. item writing and review committee.
He is a past President of the National Association of Purchasing
Management — Orange County and has served as their Certification
Chairman since 1981.
Merle
has presented over 500 full-day seminars on a variety of topics
including: C.P.M. Exam Preparation, Negotiation, Fundamentals
of Purchasing, Cost Management, Cost Reduction Strategies, World
Class Supply Management, and Buying Services Effectively. He has
received recognition and awards over the years for his outstanding
work in the area of professional development—including being named
the “Professional Development Person-of-the-Year” for 1985, “Member
of the Year” for 1993 and the “Sara J. Arhlen Leadership Award”
recipient for 1994 by the National Association of Purchasing Management—Orange
County. In September of 1993, he was recognized as one of the
“Top Nine Purchasing Professionals in America” by Electronic
Buyers’ News.
