There are many aspects of our February Dinner Meeting that are different than usual.

First, the meeting will be on WEDNESDAY instead of Thursday.

Second, we are being hosted for this meeting by the Orange County APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Chapter. A regular exchange between the groups to foster fellowship and sharing the many commonalities our disciplines have in common.

Third, the meeting will be at the Radisson Hotel Newport Beach which is located at 4545 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach, approximately one half mile closer to the beach on the other side of MacArthur from our normal meeting site. That is where Birch Street intersects MacArthur Blvd.

Finally, we have a special presentation by Bill Brennan, a former materials manager with the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa. Maytag was named one of the five best managed companies for 1985 by Dunn’s Business Month Magazine. Bill believes good managers are made, not born. In 30 years of professional speaking he has reached thousands with his positive message.

It has been stated many times in many different ways, “People are our most important asset.” The best materials control systems in the world will not be effective without dedicated people and their commitment to excellence. If we are to be successful we need good, well-trained people. Training must continue, there is no finish line. There is no saturation point. This presentation will highlight the type of people we need as World-Class Materials Managers.Bill builds his compelling, motivating message around a dynamic philosophy toward life and career.

Bill has been a chapter president and regional vice president of the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and served two years on the APICS National Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Currently a full time public speaker, Bill brings enthusiasm and motivation to the lectern and leaves his audiences with a positive message.
