Abstract:
The
average worker in America will change jobs seven times during
their career. Many times these changes are caused by restructuring
or purchase of their corporate employer, or reorganization of
a public-sector agency.
This
interactive session is for Supply Management professionals who
would like to expand their ability to thrive during times of organizational
change. The presenters will present innovative strategies &
techniques to help the performance of their procurement organization
during times of transition (whether the "Acquiror" or
"Acuiree" as well as their personal ability to advance
their career.
Our
evening presentation is for any manager or key contributor whose
organization may reorganize, acquire another entity, or be merged
into a larger entity. It will also benefit those interested in
"best practices" they can utilize during times of change.
Speaker
Biographies:
The
presenters are currently members of both the ISM and NCMA, and
are invited guest speakers at many events, including the I.S.M.
2003 International (Nashville, TN) and I.S.M. 2002 Service Industry
(Scottsdale) conferences. They also present regularly to I.S.M.,
N.I.G.P, A.P.I.C.S. and N.C.M.A. chapters, including recent presentations
to the N.A.P.M. Sacramento, N.A.P.M. Central California, N.A.P.M.
Silicon Valley, N.A.P.M. Denver, N.A.P.M. Arizona, & N.A.P.M.
Central Florida.
Their
firm's training & consulting clients include PacifiCare Health
Systems, State of Oregon, Allstate Insurance, MetLife, Apple Computer,
Nationwide Insurance, MetRX, Entergy Services, Hoag Memorial Hospital
Presbyterian, Union Bank of California, California Bank &
Trust, Vision Service Plan, Huntington Banks, Sprint-Canada, and
Sybase.
Robert
Dunn, C.P.M., M.B.A. - His career in supply management has
covered 35 years. Mr. Dunn's consulting experience has included
highly-successful projects on behalf of three consulting firms.
Previously, Bob held key corporate positions in purchasing &
materials management in the Government, Technology, & Financial
sectors, leading to a position as Director of Corporate Procurement
for BankAmerica Corporation.
Mr.
Dunn's professional expertise focuses upon purchasing, materials,
and contract management. He has been an active member with NAPM
for the past 20 years, past President of two NAPM chapters, and
a frequent instructor at various association seminars and workshops.
He was an executive board member and chaired the banking benchmarking
committee for the NAPM Center for Advanced Purchasing Studies
(CAPS).
Mr.
Dunn has a dynamic teaching style, and is a popular guest lecturer
to clients, college programs & industry associations concerning
'Best Practices in Procurement' & related topics. He has instructed
at the collegiate level for 15 years in the field of Purchasing
& Materials Management, formerly at Saint Mary's College in
the Contracts Management MBA Program and California State University,
Hayward, in the Graduate School of Business & Economics.
Bob
received his BS degree from the University of San Francisco School
of Business Administration and his M.B.A. from San Francisco University.
Mark
Trowbridge, C.P.M. - His 18 years in procurement have included
senior procurement positions in the Financial, Airlines, and Manufacturing
sectors; most recently serving as Director of Contracting Management
for Bank of America (the fifth most-profitable domestic corporation).
In this position his team was responsible for guiding sourcing
and key negotiations of traditional and non-traditional acquisitions.
Mr.
Trowbridge has also experienced great success in procurement consulting
by exceeding targeted savings objectives on large sourcing projects
in the Telecommunications, Healthcare, and Financial sectors his
firm, Strategic Procurement Solutions.
Mr.
Trowbridge holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
from Pepperdine University. He earned his C.P.M. designation from
the ISM in 1993, and was his Lifetime Certification in 2003.
