Full day workshop, on a Saturday, from 8:15 A.M. to 5:15 P.M. Each day will include 6.5 hours of lecture and discussion with Merle W. Roberts, CPSM, C.P.M., followed by 1.5 hours of testing and exam analysis.

Overview

This CPSM exam preparation program is presented by the most recognized and experienced C.P.M. Trainer in the country. The workshop assists candidates in preparing for Exam 2 of the three exams that are the cornerstone of the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) CPSM certification process. The program's interactive format includes lecture, discussion, examples, exercises and practice testing and review. It is suitable for a wide range of purchasing and supply professionals and is supported with a PowerPoint presentation and a bound handout. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a rookie in the field, these workshops will provide a heightened level of awareness of concepts, methods and strategies essential in passing the CPSM exams.
 
Program Outline
 
Forecasting
 Task 2-A-1   Provide data on current and future and global/domestic market conditions.
 Task 2-A-2   Develop supply forecasts.
 Task 2-A-3   Manage forecasted data with suppliers.

Logistics
 Task 2-B-1   Design/modify logistics facility layouts.
 Task 2-B-2   Direct traffic/distribution policies and procedures. 
 Task 2-B-3   Manage international transportation, invoicing and documentation functions.
 Task 2-B-4   Manage the resolution of delivery/receiving problems.

Materials and Inventory Management
 Task 2-C-1   Develop/implement a material and/or service standardization program.
 Task 2-C-2   Develop/implement a warehouse and inventory management system.
 Task 2-C-3   Coordinate and/or monitor the movement of equipment and assets.
 Task 2-C-4   Develop, oversee and execute disposition plan for excess inventory.

Organization/Department Assessment
 Task 2-D-1   Monitor work against business plans and adjust plans as appropriate.
 Task 2-D-2   Develop performance criteria and evaluate supply management staff performance.
 Task 2-D-3   Develop tools to measure, report and improve compliance with supply management policies.
 Task 2-D-4   Analyze and resolve issues raised in supply management audit reports.

Planning
 Task 2-E-1   Implement or utilize requirements planning. (xRP - ERP, MRP, MRP II, DRP, DRP II)
 Task 2-E-2   Develop, implement, and monitor the forecasting, scheduling and inventory control functions.

Product and Service Development
 Task 2-F-1   Participate in product/service development or specification/requirement changes. 
 Task 2-F-2   Manage ramp-up strategy and implementation to full-scale production.

Project Management
 Task 2-G-1   Perform project management activities representing the supply management organization.
 Task 2-G-2   Implement a continuous improvement process within the supply chain.

Quality
 Task 2-H-1   Develop and administer a supplier certification program.
 Task 2-H-2   Develop measurements for continuous quality improvement.
 Task 2-H-3   Develop, measure and evaluate quality to improve supplier performance.
